: Where did you get this description of the Serious style? You seem to describe Self-Confident characters as "Serious". Oldham's chapter on the Serious style shows a very different person than you describe.
+++ Its not Oldham but Millon's recent book Personality Disorders in Modern Life. He splits the personality styles into 3-6 substyles and often you see that Oldham for reasons of readability of his book choose one of these styles.
