Enneagram Movie Board Archive Bob Saget (presenter of America's Funniest Home Video's tv series)Posted by Jan den Breejen on June 17, 2001 at 11:04:20:
![]() Bob Saget Case text: LET'S FACE IT: Seeing a man collapse in agony after his son hits a Wiffle-ball line drive to his crotch is funny. It's not right to laugh at the misfortune of others, but God help me, it's my kind of comedy. For that reason, America's Funniest Home Videos--despite its gaudy packaging and scornfully lowbrow delivery--remains a wealth of exceptionally shameless amusement. It's so comforting to squeeze the last drop of freedom out of the weekend by curling up on Sunday night to watch people I'll never meet lead lives that are much more cursed by safety hazards and hideously embarrassing moments than mine. +++ Jan's analysis Bob Saget seems to be quite a shameless guy, he seems to charmingly amuse people by zooming in on other people's stupidities or ugliness. But in reality his sleek face and quick wits probably hide contempt/disdain for his audience who laugh at the video's. He seems a bit bored by his own program; making some mischief with people in the public; provoking the audience to laugh at some members of the public whome he humiliates/outwits/manipulates verbally; not feeling constrained by any embarrasment he causes people. Classification: most likely Saget seems to be a Dramatic Style character (they'll often do or show everything that gets them attention), mixed with Self Confident Style ambition. Jan
