#### As a 1,I relate very much to that core fear. When I was in my teens, I went to confession every couple of weeks because I thought I had sinned, even if I had looked accidentally upon a picture which showed cleavage! (I did not go to a catholic school, it was something I just felt). A priest eventually told me I scourged my conscience but it took a couple of years to realise I just could not live like this no matter what the consequences were (ie eternal hell). Thank god, that period of my life is over! I still fear condemnation although that fear is very much diluted as I realise that it is actually unhealthy to think like that. While I am a practising catholic, I have not gone to confession in about 5 years as I have found a very liberal catholic church that does not believe in all of this guilt trip. The arch conservatives however are trying to close this church down with letters to Rome when the local archbishop has defended my church's position. Consequently, they are now trying to get the archbishop sacked. Sharlee
