Smallville (tv series, usa)

This series is about the life of the ‘young Superman’ Clark Kent, who has genetically based physical superpower (from the planet Krypton.) I find this series interesting because there seems to have been a good casting; the characters as acted out look very natural. I guess that some actors play out their real life character here.

+++ analysis of the main characters

- Coach Walt
He’s the devil himself, using his power to make objects burn to intimidate the boys of his football team. He’s a sadistic enforcer; a ‘hard father’ for the boys.

- Lex Luther and his father
Both are archetypical shameless business tycoons, such an inclination to fight that often they fight one another physically.

- Clark Kent
Clark is a modest fellow with a compulsive need to help people who have problems, using his super powers to the common good. ‘We need you Superman!’ is what he gets back.

- Lana
Lana looks rather helpless, unable to function normally without support.

- Cloe
She’s a very ambitious, goal focussed newspaper reporter, work-a-holic with tunnel-vision.

- Clark’s father
He seems to be over-concerned, worrying type of man, wants to protect Clark from potential dangers; ‘I will allways be a little afraid, Clark’. Sometimes he’s counter-fobically ‘assertive’.
