It rained today.

And the obvious thing to do when it rains is go swinging! Right? Huh? Hello? What the hell is This about? I paid for two toppings and you only gave me one!!

Anyway, where was I? Oh yes...swingin' in the rain...

So, I left school today, and it was raining like crazy, and I didn't feel like going home right away, so I went to my favorite park here in Omaha...Elmwood, in case you were wondering, which I'm sure you weren't. But whatever. I bet Jeffrey knows of it...he's from this wonderful city as well. =o)

I parked my car and took my time walking to the swings, already getting soaked by the rain. I don't see why people are so scared of getting wet (you pervert cory, i know what youre thinking). I mean, it's just a little water. So, swang I did, for about a half hour, just watching the rain fall to the ground, seeing it explode once it reached the sidewalk, making broken up puddles in the cracks. It was nice really, dark and quiet except for the sound of the drops hitting the pavement...no one around at all.

I think as if I'm writing. Anyone else do that? I didn't realize it until today, but that's what I do. I'll transform whatever experience I'm having, if it means anything personal or profound to me, into some sort of writing in my mind. As I was swinging through the air, letting the rain hit me in the face, all I could do was experience it like I was reading about it, or writing about it as it happened.

What I was thinking/writing in my mind. --> "I wish more people could feel this, I wish they could let go of themselves, if only for a moment, and allow themselves to be free. There's a certain liberation that's involved with being out here right now, when everyone else is hiding indoors, afraid of getting wet. There's no need to rush through the rain...or to rush through life. We all have a set time on this planet, and I want to spend mine doing the silly *little* things that everyone else laughs at...I might as well swing in the rain while I have the chance."

-Emily...this is what I mean by relishing Everything In Between

"Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things." -Antonio Smith
