Okie, I've held off THIS long because I know if I try to explain all my views on God and the spirit and our interconnectedness and such, I'll just bla-bla-bla and bore everybody to death (or confuse them--whichever), so here I'll give my HONEST, non-intellectual opinion:

I try not to ponder on it too much. This doesn't mean I never think about God or any connection or anything, but I just never see much need to dwell on it because it's something that goes beyond mere thought. It's deep and ingrained in you, and if you believe in it, then that's enough. If you try to explain it to others, the best you'll get is confused stares, the worst you'll get is an ugly argument about how your view is wrong. I think this is what's wrong with most religious movements--not the views behind the movements themselves, but the fact that nobody wants to just let go of their hatred and exclusive views and treat EVERYONE with respect. Religion is good--the narrow-minded exclusive people who preach it are bad.

But I'm going off the subject...I was trying to say that, since I know what MY beliefs are, I don't usually see the need to affirm them for myself and explain them to others, since *I* know what they are, and most others would probably just disagree and spread the anger. Sometimes, it's better to just skip over something if you know it'll start another unnecessary argument. Debate's fine, but when it comes to religion it's very hard to keep everything calm and level headed. I had a religious friend in school once who was actually hurt when I told her our religious differences "weren't worth getting in an argument over"! She must have misunderstood what I was saying--I wasn't saying the religon itself was unworthy, I was just saying that the argument--which I knew would have ended with both of us at odds and even more unlikely to see the other's view--wouldn't have been worth it.

I have other things, things I'm not so sure of, to worry about all the time, without worrying about my faith...I'm not saying I absolutely KNOW the truth in religion (like there's only one truth anyway!), but I know what I consider to be MY truth, and that's good enough for me.

Anybody seeing the Nine in me yet??

Okay, I shared, and I STILL ended up blathering...your turn, Cathy! >;)

AUS,

Tehuti
