Enneagram Type 4 Board Archive Re: 'Why', you ask?Posted by Derf on June 26, 1999 at 14:26:51: In Reply to: 'Why', you ask? posted by Amanda :) on June 26, 1999 at 11:59:39: : : How typically off-the-wall of you. One question, though: what leads you to wonder? : : Happy trails (I'm taking a break from "Smiles"; you can have a monopoly on that one for a while :), : : Derf : Hi Derf :) : What leads me to ask? Nothing earth-shattering, I'm afraid.... : I often discuss the goings-on at the board with friends (who aren't on the net - but are very interested in the enneagram, and others who are on the net around the world that I correspond with via email) and when we come to discussing points that you have raised - we run the gammit from 'he' to 'she' to 'it'. As I said before, it really makes no difference in a practical sense ie. a female's perspective holds no more or less authority than does a male's - it's all the same to me - I just feel uncomfortable referring to you as an 'it'....it seems somehow disrespectful. And if you're not a guy called Fred (somehow I don't think so - but everyone else does) - how did you come up with the name Derf? Or is it your real name? : So....are you gonna tell? : smiles Somehow you don't think so? Well, you're right! I'm neither Derf nor Fred. You must be psychic or something. But I'm taking a fancy to this gender anonymity stance, so I think I'll stick with it for a while. Toodle-oo! And oh, go ahead and call me it if you want to. It's kinda... distinctive. You should know where I'm coming from. :> Smiles, Derf
