: : : How typically off-the-wall of you. One question, though: what leads you to wonder?
: : : Happy trails (I'm taking a break from "Smiles"; you can have a monopoly on that one for a while :),
: : : Derf
: : Hi Derf :)
: : What leads me to ask? Nothing earth-shattering, I'm afraid....
: : I often discuss the goings-on at the board with friends (who aren't on the net - but are very interested in the enneagram, and others who are on the net around the world that I correspond with via email) and when we come to discussing points that you have raised - we run the gammit from 'he' to 'she' to 'it'. As I said before, it really makes no difference in a practical sense ie. a female's perspective holds no more or less authority than does a male's - it's all the same to me - I just feel uncomfortable referring to you as an 'it'....it seems somehow disrespectful. And if you're not a guy called Fred (somehow I don't think so - but everyone else does) - how did you come up with the name Derf? Or is it your real name?
: : So....are you gonna tell?
: : smiles
: : Amanda :)
: Somehow you don't think so? Well, you're right! I'm neither Derf nor Fred. You must be psychic or something. But I'm taking a fancy to this gender anonymity stance, so I think I'll stick with it for a while. Toodle-oo!
: And oh, go ahead and call me it if you want to. It's kinda... distinctive. You should know where I'm coming from. :>
: Smiles,
: Derf
hehehehe
I really MUST be psychic....I just NEW you were going to come back with something like this....it's soooo 4, it's just beautiful! And OF COURSE I know where you're coming from - I'm a 4 too, remember? I would have been most disappointed in you had you turned out to be a Fred - it's far too pedestrian for my taste! Besides, it means I'm right - although, I did have the same thought as everyone else - initially....but it just didn't seem 4-ish enough to ring true to me....there has to be a far more windswept and interesting story to it than that!
Thanks for the permission to use the term 'it'. Distinctive - I can live with....disrespectful - I could not. You realise, of course, that I'm going to have to go back through every message you've ever posted to see if you've slipped up anywhere - just to get to the bottom of this. I LOVE a good mystery - after all, I was an archaeology major at university, you know....and we are like the preverbial 'dead cat' when it comes to curiosity.
Meow!
