From what I've read in books and gathered from discussions on the board I believe that this MBTI (eNFp)correlates with a type E7 better than any other and this is where the confusion starts. : I still don't believe it's possible to be both a 4 & a 7. I also don't think it's possible to change from one enneagram type to another. Others on this board are much more capable of going deeper into this area than I am. : Ev Houston....we have contact.... Hi guys :) Yes, Mustafa - I am both a 4 and eNFp - who has often been confused for a 7. How we look to others and how we are inside can be two very different things. The main difference is in our motivations - the "WHY" behind what we do, how we act and how we look to others. One of the things that helped me to see the difference between the 4 and the 7 was to look at the centres ie. heart/head/gut. It all depends on where you are coming from.... Does your heart lead the way?....Is your head in charge? Do you go by your gut instincts? One of these will 'speak' to you more than the others and that will give you more of a clue as to what your true enneagram type is. Don't let the MBTI get you too confused. eNFp's often DO look like 7's but that doesn't make one a 7. I personally don't think that there is any hard and fast correlation between the two systems because I believe they measure two different things. It may not be a very common combination - but it does exist....in fact, only the other day I met a girl who is both eNFp and a 4 - who also scored very highly on the 7 - but knows that she is really a 4. There are others out there like us! I have to agree with Ev in that you don't change types. I didn't start out as a 7 who later switched to a 4. I always looked like a 7 but was always unaware of the 4-ness that was deep inside - that only got to see the light of day when circumstances came and bit me on the bum! Then I really HAD to take a look - and learned alot about myself that I didn't know before. Keep on studying and I'm sure all will become clearer in time.... Hope this helps
