Once I start going to the gym I love it and want to go several times a week. I know lots of other people that this has happened to too. However cos I was in a car accident and unable to go since April, I find it quite hard now to go again. I feel almost scared of going in case I can't do very much or I don't fancy the walk there, or it's too hot. Going anywhere actually still feels a bit daunting since the accident. I don't know if that's cos it's made me a bit fearful or if it's just that I've been at home for such a long time, not having been able to walk very well for a while. I know the first few times I went out I was scared of the traffic.
Amanda, there's a new drug out that's become available on the NHS over here which is supposed to be twice as effective as nicotine patches for giving up smoking; it actually prevents teh craving without adding any nicotine to your body. It works by altering chemicals. You didn't mention it, but I'm sure you doctor must have suggested you give up smoking. Hypnotherapy is also meant to be very effective. My friend has to give up smoking for medical reasons so he's been looking into it.
