I consider her the closest to me in my family. Although she won't be there permanently, I miss her & the family terribly! It doesn't help that she is so busy adapting to the new country on top of taking care of 3 kids - and being pregnant with the 4th! I used to get 'hurt' when I never heard from her - but now I've started to accept it - as she told me in an e-mail that my expectations were too high. And she is probably right. But I still cannot help missing the close connection we used to have when we lived in the same city. (although it's been a few years since we lived in the same city) E-mails help, and phone calls too. It also helps me to start thinking about planned visits - either them here, or me there! I don't have any advice other than to try to keep in contact through e-mails - they are a great way to feel like you've spoken to the person - when time difference is a factor. Summer:-))
