I had a huge fight last night. It went on for hours and hours. It all ended in tears and ruin - as it was always destined to. It didn't seem to matter what I did or how I did it. It didn't matter what I said or how much I yelled and screamed like a banshee. Niether tears nor physical violence made one poofteenth of difference in the end.
My adversary wasn't to be moved. And would you like to know who this cold, stubborn, unreasonable, misbegotten demon-spawn of an adversary is? My computer (read dinosaur)! My dear, saintly mum found me at around 3.30am in tears of frustration - and announced that the problem was going to be easily fixed. Coming from someone who knows absolutely nothing of computers, to say that I was surprised by her annoucement would be an understatement. But then she calmly told me her fool-proof solution....she's going to buy me a new computer! Her only condition is that I teach her how to use it. Of course, it'll be a bit like the blind leading the blind - but at least I've had a little experience of how to get around - and we'll no doubt muddle our way through the rest. At least with a decent set-up I will be able to do what I need to and it won't take all week!
So - I may be gone for a day or two - but I'll be back asap. I've suffered enough withdrawals from this place as it is!
So now my children - while I'm gone you be sure to play nice with each other - and I promise to be right back.
