Enneagram Type 4 Board Archive It seems there's help....and then there's 'help'....Posted by Amanda :) on June 30, 2000 at 12:20:34: In Reply to: Drinking red wine and eating greek dips helped. nt posted by Tiggy on June 29, 2000 at 20:03:27: Hi there Tiggy :) I suspect that you probably said this in jest - but it brings up a point - or should I say pitfall - that people (especially 4's I think) fall into. It is so tempting to anaesthetise oneself from painful situations with drugs and/or alcohol. I've been guilty of it a time or two myself, I must say - so I'm not trying to be preachy here by any means. But the lure of alcohol/drugs/food/shopping....or whatever....can become a trap that is all-too-easy to fall into. I have often wished that someone would invent some kind of pain-eliminating device that didn't have any pesky side-effects.... Longing for the day.... : : Greetings Fourdom :) : : My question revolves around losing someone special to you. I'm not talking about losing someone to death here - but rather when someone you love moves away. Again, I'm not talking about a situation where there has been problems between you - so much as it being something they need to do for their own reasons. : : Have any of you ever had this kind of situation to deal with? How did you cope? What helped and what didn't? : : Thanks in advance
