Interesting foor for thought. Perhaps me thinks that we pursure authenticity because in the most authentic of moments there is only essence. The completion we seek may very well be the act of being in that essence through the authentic desire. Seeking causes the most suffering in 4's I think because we often focus in on the Big Bad Ugly, or one of many of them if you like. Here's a personal story as it relates to this: I was sitting in a coffee shop recently and this guy struck up this super heady conversation with me about some book he was reading. This got me all fired up. I love and hate the search at the same time. I got that electric, slighty chilling sensation in my gut. Make a long story short, there was this older lady with big bug eyed shades sitting back against the wall. Just as I had reached a kind of conversational orgasm she says loudly in front of everyone (though very compassionately and brilliantly I might add): You will never get it so long as you keep going on and on and on and on-- That it's all right HERE and you never see it. That's all I'm going to say, she said dramatically pausing and she walk out. Needless to say I began taking special interest in the zen basic activities of simple tasks with diffused awareness. Something I've been in and out of before then. Adding this awareness to what I do and say has helped me a lot in coming clean with myself, so to speak. where is this quote from? later, Noah : A Four's search for authentic moments of connection mimics an ongoing awareness of essence. The search is motivated by the conviction that there is more than ordinary life. We would not be seeking if we were complete." : Maybe this is what is meant by the suggested idolization of authenticity by Fours. That they place being authentic above connection with Essence. They are seeking, but only expressing that search, not finding.
