Greetings Noah :)

An interesting take on all this - and I must say that I agree. Dream language and symbols rarely translate into literal reality - but rather, represent aspects of ourselves often less dark and dangerous. Those pesky fears seem to take on huge dimensions in our dreamscapes....while in reality - they can prevent us, quite effectively at times, from the freedom to be the best we can be. Aren't we always our own worst enemies?

Have you read much on the subject, Noah? I only have one book called "Dreams: God's Forgotten Language" by Sandford. Haven't read it in a month of Sundays - so I guess I should give it another look.

By the way - I meant to welcome you to our little playground before this....most remiss of me....so WELCOME - and don't forget to play nice with the other kids :)

It's always good to have someone new to join our discussions.

smiles
Amanda :)

: Cory, Thank you so much for sharing your dream. It really struck me.
: Some thing I was reminded of in reading these excerpts:

: >"You are not welcome in this room!". In the end, I don't think he ever >left though. The last part of the dream was where I was watching TV >and they had a show about the house. They had a live video camera >going on in the house, and they said there was no activity by the >Devil, but I knew he was just hiding because the public saw him.
: >I see the Devil as representing the darkest part of myself, the worst >qualities about me,
: >qualities so heinous they can harm people.
: >I think I was standing up to this other side of me, telling it to leave >my mind.

:
: I don't think one can heal this w/o a "merging, accepting" type of action torwards it. "Wholeness." The devil didn't leave the room when you shouted "get out, you're not welcome". The scariest part of embracing this part of ourselves for me has always been the fear that the devil, basking in his new found acceptance, will turn me into a great ape and go around hurting people and things with me attached to him. Ahh! But what I've found more and more is that these fears are based on the restraints I've put on my expression and very BEING! They are unfounded fears. The fear of turning into a murderous gorilla could easily translate, in real life, into being a forthright and assertive human being and telling the people at Hertz rent-a-car what I really want instead of what they want to give me, hehe. And I mean that!

: let me know if this is useful at all or if I'm off the mark,
: Noah
