Hello all,

There have been interesting revelations taking place in my little enneagram world that I don't quite know what to make of. I'll get to these in a moment but first let me go on the record as saying that the E-gram is one hell of a hard thing to understand! It seems that the more I study the less I know. To say that I find this frustrating is to put it mildly!

When I first set out on this journey I was torn between believing myself to be a 4 or a 5. As time passed and I read more I decided that I was definitely a 4w5 and was content to have "found my place" so to speak. Upon further reading I'm discovering that I'm probably a 5 with a very strong 4 wing. I can see several of the traits of a 6 in my personality but can see practically nothing of a 3 side. Since I can relate well to 4's, 5's, and to some extent 6's I'm starting to feel that 5 is my main type. This is a supreme bummer because I was enjoying the company of this board very much.

I know that lots of people don't see much of a correlation between the E-gram and the MBTI but there are some trends that are hard to ignore. For instance, it is very common for iNFp's to be type 4's and for iNTp's to be type 5's. Here's my quandry; I relate equally well to the thinking and feeling sides of the MBTI and I also relate well to both the E4 & E5 strategies. Some of the E-gram books I read have question lists for each type to help you find out which you are and I answer the great majority of both the 4 & 5 questions in the affirmative. I know that there are many similarities between 4's and 5's but I never would have believed them to be this closely related.

Any suggestions for discerning which type I "really" am??

Ev
