I reckon score-oriented tests often produce weird results. If the questions are even mildly wishy-washy, the results will be crud.
Rule-of-thumb: 3s & 2s DO NOT resemble 5s. 3s don't love solitude, 5s do. Ditto 2s. If your friend really does resemble a 3,2 or 7, then 5 is out of the question. Both 2s and 7s enjoy occasional idling, chilling and relaxing. 3s want to be as busy as possible. They only rest to stay alive, not by choice.
If your buddy can stick his feet up, relax for hours on end, enjoying some precious "slack time" without any mental problems, you can maybe eliminate 3.
2 and 7 will be tougher to call.

: My good friend of over 15 years now (if you saw my post to Amanda you know what percentage of my life that is...) recently took the pop egram test. This was after much mumbling and grumbling, mind you. We were sitting around, trying to think up titles for the movie we just finished, and I (having told him about it before) asked him to take the test while he was thinking.

: The main reason I wanted him to take this is because he is quite a strange character, and despite having known him for 15 of my 19 years, I haven't been able to lock him into one or two possble types. He's quite a complex guy, and could easily fall into 4 or 5 of the types, I thought. I figured that he could take the test himself, and that would help me to figure him out. Well, what happens? He tests high on FOUR different types, and quite a motley crew of them, as well. He scored high on 7, 3, 2, AND 5, and there is a two point difference between the highest and lowest.

: Anyway, he took a gander at all the types, and I explained what little I knew to him. He was upset that his 4 score wasn't higher, and thought his 3 was a bit inflated. My question is this: Both my generel feelings and the test results indicated that he quite possibly has characteristics of several different types. What steps could be taken to determing his "primary type"?

: To tell you the truth, I could probably post this on the "Big Board" as well. I'd like to compare the different types of responses I get... :-)
