Attraction to fame has always been high with me, at least in my imagination. I never really did anything about it, though. In answer to your question about Fours, I think my own tendency is 3/4 leaning to 4. Like you and Everett, though, I appreciate quiet time, and would not willingly do without it. I imagine that if I were prominent in the public eye, I would try to spend at least 50 percent of my waking hours in quiet, anonymous settings.

It's that kind of balance that makes the most satisfying life. As Emerson said, company prepares you for a better solitude, in which you can reflect on your time of company, and enrich the experience. It follows, reasonably, then, that vice-versa must also be true.

I wonder, how do some of you others feel about the society/solitude problem, in relation to the philosophy I described? Do you see solitude and company this way?
