I got into indie because it was so 'different'. It appealled to me as it was so heart-felt, not formulated by corporate companys. unfortunately, these days alot of the indie bands i have loved have gone 'corporate': Blur, The Verve, Pulp for example. I used to think as yourself, that I could never do a regular job, but now i am 24 years old, and i refuse to be on the dole - that would be more restrictive than having a job i think. the way i look at it: no job = gutter, job = no gutter. With my state of mind, i sometimes wonder if there is a thin line between my life as i put my acting skills into being 'regular', and being 'myself', and ending up with nothing. i don't have any family who could fund me taking a risk into the plunge of doing something creative - it's such a lottery of who makes it in the creative world. i will wait and see if morrissey discovers me!! (hahaha - i WISH!!) I see myself doing a regular job as though i am going into combat for survival, and the pathetic work clothes i wear, are my uniform, or my combat gear! I also take solace in the fact that morrissey worked as a clerk for the inland revenue for nearly a year, before the smiths happened. I would like to take the creative plunge, I have studied acting and got an award, I studied singing and sung on stage, I did visual arts at school (when i lived in Australia), and came in the top 10% of the state (of HSC 'doers') for my ability in art....As morrissey sings in 'the boy with the thorn in his side': "and when you want to live, how do you start?, where do you go?, who do you need to know?" (other moz fans accuse me of getting into the lyrics too much!!). anyway, if you want to get in touch and discuss Moz and 4ness, feel free - i checked your e-mail address and it's the UK, so you must be in the vicinity! I am in London. Excellent to hear from you, Bec, d.weddell@ukonline.co.uk : Dear Bec,
