Just wanted to say thanks for your note below. I was surprised because in an earlier post it sounded like you had the the life i always wanted.
I also equally appreciated the note that Dalila left, as well as the others who have been more regulars of this board, but I could identify the most with the situation you described.
Perhaps there is something of a double-edged sword you and I both carry--in that the family dynamics of an alcoholic situation can both give us precocious gifts and feelings of specialness as well as pain and alienation.
I will never feel a part of my family; beyond any sort of feeling of hate there is just such a powerful difference between what drives us. Alcohol was never one, but fear and longing for the day I can unleash my creativity is.
