Enneagram Type 4 Board Archive This is very interesting!Posted by Cory on September 24, 2000 at 13:04:53: In Reply to: It's that time again! posted by Cory on September 23, 2000 at 20:24:22: Already I see a pattern among Fours. I have always viewed Serious as E1, but I think it is much more E4. Do you know what the disorder to Serious style is? Depressive personality disorder! Maybe that should come as no surprise. Now, analyzing each post by each post... ANGIE The top three styles all match strongly with Four. The high Solitary & Idiosyncratic vs Self-Confident and Dramatic indicate she is definitely a 4w5. High conscientious score combined makes her an INFJ. Her results clearly indicate her enneagram and MB type. MATCHES Since Serious, Sensitive, Solitary, and Idiosyncratic dominate his personality, this is a clear indication that he is a 4w5. Now Matches has said that 4 doesnt really fit him but I know why -- he is a Leisurely type. Leisurely typically matches with 6 and 9, but I dont think he is either of those. So, enneagramwise he is a 4w5 but he is a Leisurely type. Actually, I may be misleading because even though Leisurely is his MAIN type, it doesnt totally explain his personality. You have to take in consideration ALL types and see how they work with each other. The low Dramatic, Adventurous, Self-Confident, and Aggressive types are all extraverted, goal-seeking, go-get-em attitude types. It's clear he is an INFP from this. Strong introversion I imagine. TIFFANY ;) Ah, now this is ambiguous! According to these results she is either a 4w5 or a 5w4. She is riding the border between 4 and 5. Also look at the top four types of hers...she is a STRONG introvert. If you are to believe enneagram wing theory, she might be a 5. Leisurely and Vigilant match with 6 and this could be a smaller 6 wing (although Devoted is a 6 type too). On the MB, she is INxP, with the I and P heavy. EXCALIBUR Serious, Sensitive, Idiosyncratic...he is probably a 4w5. Or perhaps, a phobic 6? His Leisurely and Vigilant scores are quite high. I'd stick with 4w5 though. Definitely an INFP. Again, the high Serious score makes me think that it and Sensitive are the two main E4 types. MIKKO These are the most interesting results. He has scored low on ALL types, none of them exerts a clear influence over him. Vigilant matches with counterphobic 6, 8, and 1. The Dramatic/Sensitive/Serious says 4w3! No wonder he isn't in the enneagram...there's such a mix of personality traits. I dont think he is an 8 because look at his low Aggressive score. If he was a 6, Devoted wouldnt have 0 points. His MB type is more clear. He appears to be an introvert, although not a strong introvert. He most likely prefers feeling, but again, not by much. Leisurely vs Conscientious indicates he probably prefers perceiving. I can't say anything about S/N because Oldham's system doesnt measure that. I would recommend he read the book because the test results are too ambiguous. Conclusion: Mikko cannot be explained by personality typing. CORY Again, here's a wide mix of conflicting types. However unlike Mikko, I scored high on many of them (most over 20). First you have the Sensitive/Solitary which indicates Im primarily introverted. But its balanced out a bit by the Dramatic/Mercurial/Self-Confident scores. Those three types are all very outgoing. These types come out when I am comfortable. The Leisurely vs Self-Confident score says that while I have many dreams of becoming successful, I dont ACT on them. Enneagramwise, it appears I am a 4. The Solitary would say 4w5, but the Dramatic/Mercurial/Self-Confident says 4w3. Although, if you look closely, I could also be a 6. Leisurely is a 6 type. Dramatic and Mercurial also match with 7. High score on Devoted, low score on Aggressive means I'm definitely phobic. So 4w5 seems to match most, although it's possible I am a 4w3 or 6w7. I'm definitely an INFP. -Cory
