I guess it depends on your definition of the key word "interesting". To myself, books are interesting and perhaps some of the things immature people are involved with may not interest me. But spiritual advancement may entail the ability to discern what has value in life and what doesn't. An ability to think for one's self. Sounds like you are on the right path.
