Enneagram Type 4 Board Archive Re: VERY interesting...Posted by Harley on September 28, 2000 at 04:25:34: In Reply to: VERY interesting... posted by Cory on September 27, 2000 at 16:58:41: : What's so interesting is you have so many conflicting types at the top. : vigilant 34 : serious 34 I had a very 4ish adolescence and I love 4s. I think there is a 4/8 connection that is not illustrated in the Egram. An 8 I know who has mainly 8 and 4 friends (quite similar to me in that respect) thinks 8s and 4s are like inside-out versions of each other. : dramatic 32 Self forgetting maybe? 8s have a real habit of not being very good at receiving and not fighting for the things they want at the early stages of the deal...then we decide that other people are not being considerate (because they are not MIND READERS, God bless them) and whoomp! There you have the famous 8 atomic explosion. It makes sense to me. I've been in my new job for 7 weeks. I'm in the early part of the deal. : mercurial 26 : ENTJ but I've not really gotten into MB : self-confident/aggressive 15 I thought it was weird too. Maybe I'm misleading myself a bit on that one (I nearly thumped a dumb Tourist on the way home tonight if that's any consolation - I'm about to be over the Olympics.) Also I've just started a new job and have found myself in conflict with a client already. I'm being very conscientious about smoothing things over and making them love me, rather than respond in the way that comes most naturally to me! (It's working, by the way.) : sensitive 12 That would be a fairly accurate assessment! : devoted 2 That makes sense. Not to be confused with loyal though. : No!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH That's quite a bit off but here's why: You scored so high on Dramatic and Self-Sacrificing and these are VERY Feeling and Emotion-oriented types. Your high scores on Dramatic, Mercurial, and Adventurous seem to sway you more to P than J. However, I see Vigilant and Serious as both J types, so it could go either way. I'm working with a pretty serious student of the Egram who is herself an 8. I am very sure about my 8ness. There is some 6 stuff that makes sense (I'm always complaining) but no more than I could agree with all the way around the Egram. I have just been through an intensely vulnerable (eugh! that's the scary 8 word!) period in my life, and have had lots of time to sit back and think and examine my behaviour and now I'm getting the chance to observe myself in action and make some changes. : But, what I am sure about from these results (and these results alone) is that you are a Feeler, not a Thinker as previously typed. The strength of your feeling types outweighs the thinking types... I might go back and do MB test again and see what it turns up. : -Cory
