I can name two friends (no longer in touch with one, rarely with the other) who wallow and are still wallowing. It's quite pathetic, really. But I understand it.

What I always find difficult to comprehend - - what makes one 4 move beyond their self-pity and another remain the same, year after year? (it's a rhetorical question ;-) )
