A couple of situations popped into my head.... : 1.)You're a young kid, living in a small suburb of about 9,000 people you're...about 10-12 years old and are walking home from somewhere. You're carrying a somewhat cumbersome load...(perhaps a backback, a saxophone case...an athletic bag...whatever...and are beginning to be irritated by it. At the corner, the light is red, so you set your things down and wait. A white Toyota Camry pulls up to the corner and rolls down the window. You hear a shout from the car, "Hey, do you guys need a ride?" You look in and see a young man, about 19-22 years old looking at you from the passenger seat. He is wearing a T-Shirt and an orange baseball cap. You look at the driver, who is about the same age, kind of smiling, and also appears to be wearing an orange hat, though different from the other guy's hat. You originally say nothing, and the passenger repeats his question, "Do you want a ride? Are you guys going home?" ....What is your reaction? What do you say, and why do you say it?
: ======o I'd have to pass on the ride. I'm hesitant to do much of anything with strangers that involves placing my life in their hands. I wouldn't think anything strange about the guy buying the pocketbook. If I were a checker in a grocery store and a man threw some feminine hygiene products up on the register, I wouldn't assume he was going to use them himself. Likewise, I'd assume this guy was buying this for some girl he knows. If he *was* buying it for himself I'd pretty much still have a "so what" attitude. To each his own. Ev
