The hundreds and hundreds of things and projects and ideas that I want to work on, but never make the time to do. It's LOTS of fun to THINK about them, but so very draining to actually do anything.

About being able to get things done at work, but not for yourself--have you given a thought to the deal with deadlines and the NEED to get things done, as opposed to the DESIRE to get things done? I've found that when it was schoolwork or a task to do for someone else--something that NEEDED to be done--I was able to do it...I may have procrastinated, but at least I got it done. But when it's for ME--that is, when no one ELSE is relying upon me--I just never finish.

I was recently given the task of cutting some ribbons to give out as awards. I did some, then slacked off on the rest. I told the person who needed them done, "GIVE ME A DEADLINE! I will NOT get these things done unless you do so!" She gave me a deadline, I put it off a bit more, then I finished them all at once.

Honestly, I would never have finished those if they had been just a project of my own. I would've set them aside and started, I dunno, cutting up index cards for another project of mine, before setting THOSE aside and brainstorming something else.

Ugh.
