The "stereotypical" male homosexual seems to be 7w6. The "stereotypical" lesbian seems to be type 1. Do subtle unconscious assumptions determine our stereotypes? If we can unconsciously assume the 7-like personality to be disconnected from the mother figure, and unconsciously assume, also, that this disconnection might give rise to homosexuality, then we might assume the homosexual male to be typically 7-ish.

This is assuming, of course, that the "parental orientation" theory is valid, and that my judgment of the stereotypical homosexual male as a 7w6 is valid as well.

I do *not* believe in the parental orientation theory. But since this seems an unusually congruent pattern, I'll explore it.

The logic is as follows:

7w6 males are theoretically disconnected from their nurturing figures (usually the mother), the kind of parent figure to whom they have a primary inclination, and connected to their protective figures (usually the father), the kind of parent-figure to whom they have a secondary inclination. I don't conclude that this loose theory must have validity; only it's interesting to consider the pattern for its own sake, even if its basis is probably erroneous, and the argument not really applicable to human beings
