I really look forward to reading about your first impressions and experiences in the US.
I also had a similar experience: I went from living "in the trenches" (very sheltered, living at home with my parents) in Spain, to going to the US, alone, to study at the University of Connecticut. I was scared and excited. I had a real culture shock when I got there... But in a week I was loving it, I made 3 really good friends who are still my good friends today... And I don't know. I hope it does you as much good as it did to me!! It made me find a strength I didn't know I had, and built up my self-confidence... So many things. Seriously, it was all good :) I wish you the same!!!
