: In arguing, you have to use your brain and apply any knowledge you have. That does not mean you do not like to argue. The difference between arguing and dicussion is not the level of thought and insight; there is no difference between the two that way. The difference is that in arguing, two ideas are pitted against each other, whereas in discussion, the people are in basic agreement. If the people in a discussion disagree, the discussion is no longer a discussion; it is an argument.
