: I think Devorah-Leah gives really good advice when she says to concentrate more on points of integration and disintegration than wings! I am a five with a four wing (I score very high on four), but I also feel a great affinity for six at times. What I think is much more revealing than looking at wings is the integration and disintegration dynamic. As a five, I disintegrate to seven, which though it can be a lot of fun (especially for an otherwise pretty uptight five), can also be really escapist for me. Before I learned about the enneagram I would have never understood this dynamic. Now I know that when my instincts tell me to go out and have another couple beers and just have fun (re:stick my head in the sand and avoid pain, responsibility) I need to really examine what's going on. As a four, you disintegrate to two, so that might explain the four/two confusion. Do you notice that you're more giving/ accomodating when you're under stress?
