Personally, I'm not an on and off person at all; in fact I'm a very loyal long-term friend sort. I'm not fickle in my friendships. I don't find though that once I have what I want I don't want it as some of the Enneagram writers suggest. I don't find that with things I buy or people I gecome friends with. I have lots of friends who go back a long way, and who I still happily socialise with even though often geography has separated us for long periods of time.
