I got an e-mail from a friend asking me to chat on MSN tonight, but she said, "Don't be offended but would you mind if we didn't talk about, blah, blah, blah..." I thought, "don't be offended? I'm VERY offended!" Would I ever ask her, "Don't be offended but would you mind if we didn't talk about you kids? Would you mind if we didn't talk about your church activities? Would you mind if we didn't talk about Survivor?" I have not even responded to her e-mail for fear of my response being sarcastic. But in my mind I'm thinking, that's it for you! Another written-off friend.
