I think it is intuition taken to the nth degree, but it can also be more scattered. My intuitions tend to be fairly precise, whereas I get the impression from most psychics that they don't really understand what they are psyching.
I had one psychic experience where I thought about us having a car crash just before we had one. Just a minute before, on a very short journey we had done a lot, I suddenly and uncharacteristically thought, 'We could be in an accident now and all die and that would be it.' I don't usually have thoughts like that.
A minute later we crashed, but none of us died, though we easily could have if my mother hadn't had lightning reactions for a 72 year old. It was a drunk driver coming round the bend on the wrong side of the road straight towards us. We ended up sideways in a hedge and had to be cut out of the concertinad car.
