: I think it is intuition taken to the nth degree,
+++ I sometimes suspect that. Yet it is strange how I've noticed that those around me who have these feelings are sensing types. My mother, and her sister, both SFJ's, both frequently have dreams that come true. A friend who is an SFP often goes by her "feelings" and she tells me they are never wrong. All of these people are very clearly sensing types to me because they are extreme with their sensing function.
Maybe both sensates and intuitives can be "intuitive" or have psychic experiences. Except maybe they experience it differently. It seems that when intuitives experience it everything "makes sense" to them even though they may not be able to explain it. Their "sight" is directed inward to their unconscious, and so they clearly "see" what's happening in their minds. They treat the experiences as a normal thing because it relates to their dominant function.
Sensates, however, often seem to me to be somewhat confused no matter how intuitive or psychic they know themselves to be. It seems as if the psychic/intuitive experience is rising out of their unconscious without them realizing it. And even to themselves, who experience it, it is a "magical" thing. The reason might be because their "sight" is focused outwards to the sensate world, so they would not "understand" what's coming from their inner minds. Therefore they often say "I just know", because to them that's precisely how they experience it.
But I could be wrong about the latter type being "sensing types" since they are often the types who are most noticeably intuitive. Their intuition is more "mysterious" than that of the first type, mainly due to the "I just know" attitude. The reason why I thought they are sensing types is because they usually possess none of the qualities of intuition in the Myers-Briggs sense (eg. introspectiveness, focus on possibilities and potentials).
Having said all that, I have another theory. Can this kind of intuition and psychic ability I've been talking about be related to high levels of sensitivity rather than to any psychological function?
