Wing types arbitrarily going together with numbers from anywhere around the circle just doesn't make sense to me. 4's and 9's have much in common, and differences as well. YOu can find this out by lots & lots of reading! Otherwise people would just start saying 'I'm a 3w6. I'm a 7w4. I'm a 1w5.' It just doesn't make sense to me. : I think the numbers are in the order they are for a reason. There are patterns to be found by that order. I can't explain all the in's & out's like some other people on these boards can - I'll leave that to them. But don't just take Tal's word for it. Read & decide for yourself. : ;-) Here's my interpretation of myself that encompasses the wings and the mysterious "nine" characteristics. I am at this point in my life a four with a five wing. There have been times when I have been a four with a three wing, but now I have the five wing. I am not feeling very competitive, but more laid back and personable, wanting to reach out to people. The process of doing stuff, being engaged in the act is more important to me than the end product. No matter the wing, I have an intolerance for three's--I think they believe that I can see right through the plastic to their real selves, and this is why I think they won't look at me. On the other hand, I can click with fives no matter how idiocyncratic they are. I am sure one of my co-workers is a five. Anyhow, about the nine. My nine characters, both positive and negative, date back to my childhood, but after thinking about what all these nine characteristics share in common, I am convinced they have mainly to do with how I relate to others, one-on-one or in a group. Everything having to do with just myself (e.g., how I think, how I feel, what I think and feel, and what I think and feel about myself, where I've been, and where I'm going)--all four. To Cecil: I can't interpret your scores regarding wings except to say that you are definitely a four. Concentrate on everything the books and people say about fours, especially the good things, and how to be even better. (I have to read four and nine together to figure out where I am at and where I am heading).
