I forgot to add in the above, and it relates to your point, that I think the sense of being special is to do with spirituality. I have a sense of being a child of God and find it easy to relate to the Hindu idea of Atman, God within us as our real depths, being the same as Brahman, the Godhead.

So for me it is not something I would WANT to get rid of. Maybe it's a healthy thing. If we treat everyone as if they are special then the world would be a better place - well, if everyone did it. But I see myself as having the courage/(naievety?)to do it, (St. Joan complex). Well, it has to start somewhere - trusting. I see it as a Four vocation, in that we realise who we are in the deepes sense, which is why we so often reject the superficial and seek the depths to find ultimate truth and reality. I mean the hum drum everyday reality is also true, but we are enmeshed in that already, and it is contingent. I think our gift as Fours is to show the world this truth, whatever our original motivation in seeking it, (For example I know I am motivated by my lack of knowledge of my identity throught being adopted - it has made me a seeker) In many of the more religious E-gram books, like by monks and nuns etc., they say the same thing.
