Enneagram Type 4 Board Archive Re: :))))Posted by Amanda :) on September 09, 1999 at 11:27:41: In Reply to: Re: :)))) posted by Ev on September 09, 1999 at 07:51:04: : : Greetings Fourdom :) : : I've just got through reading the somewhat maniacal ravings on the main board and came back 'home' for a little r&r and to pose a question about an interesting subject that those on the main board seem to have forgotten - the enneagram! : : Now my question is this: : : I will be turning 40 in just a few days time - and I was wondering how other 4's have coped with a milestone such as this. Is there anything that you think is particular to the 4 experience? : : I am actually quite looking forward to it, myself. I've always been of the belief that 40 is the 'penultimate' age for a woman - old enough to have learned some things and to be taken seriously, yet young enough to enjoy it! : : Ain't life grand? : : smiles : Hello Amanda, : It's great to see the smiles at the start of your post!! Turning 40, eh? Well, I'm here to tell you that the experience *is* survivable. :) I don't remember looking forward to it though. Once I got through my 20's the rest all seemed about the same to me. Not how about that statement for one that is lacking in windswept and interesting details? How in the world can I be a 4? I'm way too ordinary! Oh well, a four I am anyway. :) : BTW, what day is your birthday? You mentioned it in a previous post and suggested that we sent "pressies" but I couldn't figure out which post is was. : Ev Hi Ev :) It's good to know that I am likey to at least survive the experience. My own plan is to not just simply survive - but to prosper! I don't know what you did to whittle away your 30's - but my life has been one constant change after another. It seems sometimes as if I have been reeling from one drama to the next - but none of them were of my own devising (sorry excuse of a 4!)....and, whilst I have been the instigator of this latest turn of events in my life, I never planned for it to be this way. Now, don't get me wrong - I'm not wallowing in my own little 'pity party' when I say this - I'm just stating simple fact. My experience has been one of constant change. Hey, I just had a thought....maybe I'm actually due for things to go smoothly for once! As for the big day.... giggles
