^^^I turned down a scholarship to play baseball at Old Dominion because of that stupid social phobia. It turned out though that I am not really that shy but just a little nervous around people sometimes. Even when I almost robbed a Pizza Hut in my hometown I seemed tense to the point of hyperventilation and nausea. I didn't rob the joint although I did cut the phone lines and power. I still feel guilty for that.
