: I am really feeling depressed & useless today. I just got turned down for an interview at a company I was really excited about. Apparently, the HR person turned my down because on the second interview, I made the stupid mistake of dressing a little too casually. Everything else was fine.

: The company is super super casual, & I made an error in judgement. Now I feel so bad, & stupid. I just feel like crawling home, lying in my bed & crying all day. I'm just not having any luck getting a job, & it's starting to affect my self-esteem. I don't feel like I can talk to anyone in my life about this, because they either pity me too much, or start making criticisms that don't seem to fit, and hurt me alot.

: I feel like I am being rejected by the world right now. I am at work, and I can barely concentrate on the job, or stop the tears from coming.

: Does anyone have some words of wisdom for me? I feel at a complete loss right now - - --

Hi Summer :)

I'm afraid that I don't have any great words of wisdom for you at the moment - and not much time left to reply....but I will give it some thought and see what I can come up with and get back to you....

Nevertheless, my heart goes out to you. It must be really awful to have your heart set on something, only to see it all go down the drain over something so trivial. You realise, of course, that it is their loss. But just imagine - there could be something even better just around the corner - just ask any passing optimist!

In the meantime, you hang in there. And remember - you are much more than the sum total of your feelings....

smiles
Amanda :)
