Even though I don't know what you interviewed for, having been on the receiving end of your beautiful, sincere, in depth, comments I know that Summer brings to this time and place tremendous value. 'They' don't know that ... yet... I have interviewed many many candidates for jobs, and have declined many. Some of the declines, I have eventually hired - because the candidates HELPED me get to know who they really were. Their honesty, sincerity, and qualifications, and experience became known to me. Candidates, continued to 'contact' me, to schedule follow up interview(s), to check in for open positions, who I began to regret for not hiring, eventually (not all) were hired...why? Interviews are not fully telling (There have been many hired - based upon MY SOUND judgement that I have regretted hiring. Interviewers make errors in judgement too, and perhaps you, in your compassionate way will help inform them of such. If you don't eventually get the position, then there is a reason that you did not - not because of you, but because of time, place, circumstance, and your destiny. This decline provides you with an opportunity and experience to become more aware of your self and for those around you to become more aware of you. I declined a candidate, who followed up, remained consistent in their desire to work at the company, who I eventually hired, that turned out to be the most successful hire I made in my life for the company...am I GLAD they were kind enough, and professional to help my see the error of my judgment. Being so tough on yourself is so painful, so painful - wish I could hold you and share your feelings with you. We are tough on ourselves, I believe because of how approval, acknowledgement of who we are is so important, emotionally important to us. Plans, desires goals are just that, always subject to change, shifts, moves. Summer - you are one step closer to the job you are destined. With affection and compassion Sam
