Enneagram Type 4 Board Archive Re: Fours and no humorPosted by Riv on May 26, 2001 at 15:25:31: In Reply to: Re: Fours and no humor posted by Lisza on May 26, 2001 at 14:34:00: : Can someone tell me why whenever people are talking about the most important qualities they want in an ideal mate, sense of humour is always one of the top two or three qualities? : Since 4's are usually seen as way too serious, does that mean that 4's are at the bottom of people's most desired people's list? Logically 1} Extremely few people know of Enneagram and fewer still put etype on their list. That was a literal response to your question and I know I know! that's not what you really meant so I'll get to that but first 2} Sense of humor is USUALLY or OFTEN but not always on the list let alone in the top three. Even if it is in the top two or three, quite often one of the other requested qualities is Good Listener or Sensitive which happens to be a 4 trait. So you still have an edge. Lucky you. Back to 1} Dry humor is still humor and many serious people can both be good at its use and have the temperment and intellect to understand and appreciate it. There's silly humor, sarcastic humor, mean humor {or sick "humor"], deep humor but dry humor can make the right kind of people really roll in hysterics. And I've seen 4's using it to perfection as well as other types. So the wedding is still on? ZZZZZZZZZZZ? Oh well, I'm a 5. _Riv
