Enneagram Type 4 Board Archive Re: Butch's PostsPosted by Derf on September 12, 1999 at 03:32:29: In Reply to: Butch's Posts posted by Gilligan on September 11, 1999 at 21:46:05: : Why were Butch's posts removed? I would think that fours, the most open type, would be willing to try to find out what he was doing and why. It disappoints me that so many took offense without exploring any further. It seems to me that many of you are unhealthy...twoish...in your desperate attempts for acceptance. Does that desperation keeping you from being open minded? And since many of you have a five wing, why would a morbid and disturbing post not be intriguing? I'll bet Butch is a four himself, and I'll bet his trick worked. What's so fascinating about a prankish adolescent (and a crude, disappointingly uninspired one at that) getting his kicks by posting poopie jokes to random web boards? However, your point is taken, and in fact my iNtuition did tell me a few things.... Our Butch is probably about 15, though at the approximate emotional maturity level of a 12-year-old. He's probably tall and skinny (my apologies to those who read my response and tire of me repeating myself). He probably has slightly longish, dissheveled hair. He probably has a "dumb, innocent" look about him. He's probably hyperactive, and takes psychoactive medications. His face is probably long, his movements and expressions choppy and crude, and his affectivity remarkably flat. He probably has a strained, bombastic manner of speech, and he probably laughs loudly in situations that most people would consider inappropriate to laugh in. His parents, family, and neighbors probably consider him bright and creative, though immature and eccentric. They probably imagine that he has a "chemical imbalance" in his brain (this would apply especially if one of his family members or neighbors was a One). His friends are probably acid-heads. He's probably touchy, and prone to a whiny plaintiveness. During such instances, his acid-head friends and hippie girlfriend generally listen, though his conservative family wince and marvel to themselves about how odd he is. I could get deeper, and more sympathetic, making suggestions as to the parental and social repressiveness that often causes sensitive, creative individuals to repress their feelings and redirect them neurotically immature pranks and weird, gawky affectivity, but I'm getting sleepy.
