: : 1) Social variant (Karen Horney)

: : 2) Introverted Feeling type (Jung), in either primary or auxiliary position - in other words, xxFP (Myers-Briggs)
:

: What is "Social variant"?

For a good overview of the Hornevian instinctual variants as they apply to each type, read something by Helen Palmer. Claudio Naranjo (in Character And Neurosis and Transformation Through Insight) and Riso and Hudson (in The Wisdom of the Enneagram) go into them a bit more.

Briefly, here are the variants as they apply to us:

Social: "Shame" (Palmer); "The Special One" (Riso/Hudson)

Intimate: "Competition" (Palmer); "Infatuation" (Riso/Hudson)

Self-preservation: "Reckless/Dauntless" (Palmer); "The Sensualist" (Riso/Hudson); "Self-recrimination... like the high side of One" (Naranjo).
