: : : : I cannot face my pain, at least some of it. Certain kinds of loss : : that have to do with the choices of others. : : I have to step outside of it. If I have to tell somone how I feel, if the feeling is intense, it is only by detaching myself from those feelings & saying them as if they are insignificant that I can do it. : : I have to convince myself the feelings and the situation are insignificant, or I just couldn;t handle the reality, the implications of the situation for me. : : Interestingly enough, I have become so good at this, that for some I seem to come off as as thinking type. But I know that deep down, I'm a heart type. Call me a 'hiding heart' type. : : I'm probably alot like that. I know I started life as a 5, always learning, little to no interest in socialization. Then in my teenage years, the emotions started to get overwhelming culminating in serious depression in my early 20's. I would say that was more 4 like. Now, by 27, I have learned to minimize emotions when they are counterproductive. That's not to say that I don't feel them strongly, but now I am able to intellectually moderate their impact. I have found this to be advantageous in every aspect of my life. : Joe Im a 27 INFP 4w5 and by you saying you also had problems like that is encouraging for me, because the same thing happened to me, now im trying to find ways to counteract....So Big thanks to you for admitting that. Your awesome dude! It's nice to know im not the only male that goes through that.
