: Fears of that nature haunt me constantly. Ideally I'd like to get a PhD in psychology, which would allow me to make a difference in others' lives, while also distingusihing me from entire family, none of whom posesses a higher degree. But then I have doubts, fear, and anxiety that wash over me, and the only thing that appeals to me is solace and comfort; in these states i only want a small, monotonous office job, becasue I can't handle the idea of anything bigger. Self-doubt and self-loathing are the two main components of my mentality when i fall into these ruts, and i think they mask themselves as anxiety. Maybe i'm really a 6 in disguise. I dont know.

I don't know shaggy, you sound like a four to me. Did you get your degree in Psych.? Do you think you could work toward you PhD really slowly...Like one class a semester or something? That way there would not be so much pressure.....and you'd eventually get there.

When I was in college I started out majoring in English....but when it came time to declare a major I was actually torn between art and psych. Like you I thought it would be overwhelming to get a PhD so I went with art. But I was very naive about that too. Graphic design can be kind of brutal. I found out the hard way. But it's okay now....I'm still doing the art thing because I still love it. Every once and awhile though I get the tinge to go back to school and do the psych thing.

It would be nice if multitasking were a characteristic of fours then I could have a fabulous design business and do counseling on the side. (:

wishfully,
emoot
