I want to commend you for thinking about your beliefs, and learning about what your parents believe. You may want to try a more accepting church, like the Methodists. You don't want to try Pentecostal or independent Baptist. It would surprise me if you ended up liking any kind of Baptists.

Most of the traditional religions believe in a higher being or power known as "God". Why don't you ask Her to lead you to the truth? Making such a request of Him is not attached to any religion, but will provide you with a guide to find what religion is closest to the truth.

About believing most of the world is going to Hell: As a member of this school of thought, I would tell you that this is why it is important that we tell people about Jesus. There are wonderful people out there who are not Christian. Many of them! Our job is to inform them about Jesus so that the choice to accept Him or not is there.

: my main complaint of the lutheran religion is the belief of: if you dont belive that jesus christ is the son of god, then you are going to hell. 70% of people in this world are non-christian, and they are trying to tell me that out of all of those wonderful and amazing people that all of them are going to hell??
: also, when you live in the united states, well in my area (midwest) at least it seems like being christian is a given. One just follows in the footsteps of their family and i bet if you went around my church, only a handfull know what the actual religion is really about. all they know is the comfort and acceptance. I dont want to believe in something just because my parents do.
: Im only 17 so my parents are continuing to make me go to the family church, and arent too happy about me doubting their lifetime belifs. I just want to see what else is out there.
: i have taken this religion quiz and my highest was reform judism. I have read up a little bit of this, but as far as i could tell, there is only one synagouge (spelling??) in the Omaha area. If anyone knows anything about this religion or any of the same sort, let me know. thanks!!
