: : : are there any links between religion and enneagram?? my family is currently luthren, in which i dont feel i belong. so i was just wondering if there were religions 4's would tend to belive in so i could at least get a start at where to look. any suggestions would be appreaciated.

: I always wondered about this, like how people "switch" religions, or "find" them. If you don't somehow start out believing something in particular (i.e., you "grew up" believing it, which means your parents took you to church or wherever and told you some particular religion was "true")...how do you get it later on? Like, if you find some 4-ish religion that seems "right"...do you just start believing it somehow?

: Or maybe it's more like you look at/experience to some degree a few different things, and some seem to "resonate" more, or seem more logically true?

: But it almost seems like you are looking for experiential expediency: you want a religion that your type "tends to believe in", which I guess you think means it will fit you comfortably or be more emotionally appealing somehow. Like, you want what meets your needs, not necessarily what's "true".

: Which I suppose is sort of a precursor to even the idea of "looking for a religion", because every person who really *believes* their religion will tell you theirs is totally *true*.

~~when i was in conformation in junior high, i went to my church, learned my stuff and passed. i never really listened to it...it was more memorization than anything. so now that i have grown older and have begun to actually take meaning to what is being told to me, i have begun to have doubts. so im not sure its so much of a change in religion...i dont consider myself a lutheran in the first place

the only reason i ask about "4-ish" religions, is that i want to know everything before i make a decision. I dont want to just assume im lutheran without knowing islam, buddhist without knowing hindu. how is one expected to believe in one thing, when they havent even found out about all of the possibilities.

there was just a million different religions when i was looking, so i thought if i asked around with people who are like me, then they might have some insight on where to look first. i guess i should just explore them all so i dont miss any.

one more thing: why wouldnt what meets your needs, be true??
