: one more thing: why wouldnt what meets your needs, be true??
I guess it could be. For me (5w4), ever since I was 8 or so, no religions seemed *true*, and so none of them met my needs, since (perceived) truth is the overriding prequalification for my belief.
And, since everyone believing a particular religion thinks their religion (and only theirs) is *true*...either one of them is 'true' or none of them are. Although some of them claim to be non-exclusive, something along the lines of "mine is true for me, which doesn't necessarily invalidate your beliefs"...except, at least for all the major organized religions, their doctrine fundamentally excludes "non-believers" from possibly being correct.
So if we assume that if you find a religion that meets your needs...how would that make it "true"? What your particular needs may find "true" is at odds with the other 60 - 99% or so of humans who subscribe to some different, exclusionary belief system.
