: If you want to learn how to be selfish and out for yourself--actually her philosophies are the underpinning of Libertarian politics, then read Ayn Rand. I found the Fountainhead to be the most boring, evil book on the planet. one thing youll notice reading Ayn Rands versions of Utopia is that there are no children, old people or disabled people. Hmmmm.

have you read what ayn rand said about libertarians? there are plenty of problems with libertarianism from an objectivist piont of view, and peikoff and rand both have pointed this out. the ari objectivist camp (who actually follow what rand preached) does not support the libertarian party. don't think that libertarians have a trademark on lessaiz-faire capitalism.

teh fountainhead, just as a piece of literature, wasn't nearly as good as atlas shrugged, which is a really quick-moving book. but i don't know that i'd actually call it "evil." in galt's gulch, there are children. and old people. it's just that there isn't anyone there who expects handouts for free. if you erally wanna know what you're talking about when you talk about objectivism, you shoudl read atlas shrugged. or, at least, go to www.objectivism.org. it's important to know what it is you're criticizing if you want your criticisms to be of any value at all. if you would actually like to have this debate, feel free to email me.
