to quote a popular lyricist,artist & poet:

THAT JOKE ISN'T FUNNY ANYMORE

Park the car at the side of the road
You should know
Time's tide will smother you
And I will too
When you laugh about people
Who feel so very lonely
That their only desire is to die
Well, I'm afraid
It doesn't make me smile
I wish I could laugh
But that joke isn't funny anymore
It's too close to home, too near the bone
It's too close to home, too near the bone
More than you'll ever know
(Kick them when they fall down
Kick them when they fall down
Why must you
Kick them when they fall down
Kick them when they fall down)
It was dark as I drove the point home
And on cold leather seats
Well, it suddenly struck me
I just might die with a smile on my face
After all
I've seen this happen, in other people's lives
And now it's happening in mine
I've seen this happen, in other people's lives
And now it's happening in mine

Derf, you seem very closed minded to the multifacetedness of the world. eg: In some parts of the world, mass communities are depressed as there is NOTHING they can do about their poverty and that they are restricted by a terrible government/religion. Could you say to their faces what you have just blurted out to the people on this message board? Good luck trying, we will call the undertakers for your return.

You can sit on your little high horse and hurtle all sorts of slings and arrows at people of of whom you have never even seen what their face looks like, let alone know them and their situations personally: very intuitve on your part, I THINK NOT.

It is helpful to say what helped you. But the rule of existance is that you can only ever know one person, and that is yourself, as you can only EVER see through your eyes, no matter how much sympathy you believe you have for other people. It is physically impossible to have seen and see things they way other people see them.

Your judgements are nothing more than the sound of an empty barrel rolling down a hill.

and to quote another song, that after i discovered it, it seemed to be my motto in life written conveniently for me:

NOWHERE FAST

I'd like to drop my trousers to the world
I am a man of means (of slender means)
each household appliance
is like a new science in my town
and if the day came when i felt a
natural emotion
I'd get such a shock I'd probably jump
in the ocean
and when a train goes by
it's such a sad sound

I'd like to drop my trousers to the Queen
every sensible child will know what this means
the poor and the needy
are selfish and greedy on her terms
and if the day came when i felt a
natural emotion
I'd get such a shock I'd probably jump
in the ocean
and when a train goes by
it's such a sad sound

And when I'm lying in my bed
I think about life
and I think about death
and neither one particularly appeals to me
and if the day came when i felt a
natural emotion
I'd get such a shock I'd probably lie
in the middle of the street and die
I'd lie down and die

So derf, wallow in your new found natural emotions, and i'll remain feeling exhilarated on the rollar coaster which is my life, as this world is such a boring place if you wish to be a clone.

Bec...the anti-clone!!!

p.s. both the songs quoted are by the smiths, written by the king of fourdom himself, morrissey.
